Pop Up at No. 9

Popping Up to Support British Design }

In collaboration with University College London, Pop Up at No.9 ran in Seven Dials, London, for 6 weeks as a test bed for pop up activation. This included research into retail operations and logistics, retail technologies, and best practices to support small independent British designers. Beyond Form undertook all activation activities, securing of the retail premises and partners. This short project paved the way for further research into the future of retail.

A core component of the project was to bring on board British designers into an exiting pop up space. The team met with individual designers and collaborated with them to best support them within the retail ecosystem. This included holding a presentation for London College of Fashion MA Menswear graduates during Men’s Fashion Week.


Our philosophy is that that best knowledge is always founded upon experience. The Beyond Form team undertook all retail operations, but also conducted research with University College London on the best practices for future retail. The results helped UCL to form future retail projects.
